JUST IN: Raducanu called her early celebration of the Billie Jean King Cup “quite embarrassing.”…

During her 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers match against Caroline Garcia, Emma Raducanu had a hilarious moment by celebrating the win too soon.

After nearly a year away from the surface, the British player played her maiden match on clay on Friday, April at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. She mentioned how excited she was to be back on the red dirt after training on it for some time.

She wasn’t particularly good at it when she was younger and didn’t play much, but she’s grown to love it and has found her niche. In fact, she thinks she can become a very skilled clay artist in the future.

The British player’s match in France didn’t go as planned, but it ended magnificently as she defeated Caroline Garcia in three sets to secure a crucial point for her nation. Raducanu made a very significant remark that could prove to be pivotal for Great Britain, particularly in light of Katie Boulter’s defeat.

She believed this to be the reason of her raucous celebration after winning the match. She rejoiced after taking a 5-1 lead in the third set, which was the incorrect moment for her to do so. Although it was a humorous moment, Raducanu felt it was very awkward when she discussed it with others after the game.
