JUST IN: NFL quarterback mock draft: Raiders quarterback 2024…

The quarterback position has been a major focus of the Las Vegas Raiders’ draft selection process.

However, the Raiders are not the only team in the draft that needs and wants a quarterback. So let’s play a mock draft for the league involving quarterbacks.

NFL Draft 2024: Raiders competing with USC, Chicago Bears, and quarterbacks like Caleb Williams

Let’s accept the giveaway. At this point, it would be shocking if the Bears selected Williams—who is regarded as the top quarterback prospect in the draft—after the first pick.

Washington Commanders, LSU, and Jayden Daniels:

And the dream of the Raiders is gone. The Commanders may choose J.J. McCarthy or possibly Drake Maye, but I believe Daniels’ all-around skill set will convince Washington to select him at No. 2.

Drake Maye, New England Patriots, North Carolina:

The Patriots are rumoured to be considering trading for the third overall pick or perhaps selecting Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. But Maye has a lot of promise, and the Patriots really need a quarterback. Thus, I believe they take the QB out.

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings, Michigan:

I’d be shocked if the Vikings don’t use their two first-round selections (plus possibly some more) to go acquire a quarterback and McCarthy makes it to the fourth or somewhat lower spot.

And the Raiders’ dream has vanished. J.J. McCarthy or perhaps Drake Maye might be selected by the Commanders, but Daniels’ versatile skill set should persuade Washington to take him at No. 2.

Drake Maye, North Carolina, New England Patriots:

The Patriots are reportedly thinking between picking Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. or dealing for the third overall pick. Yet Maye is a very promising player, and the Patriots are in dire need of a quarterback. I think they remove the QB as a result.

J.J. McCarthy, Michigan; Minnesota Vikings:

McCarthy might land in the fourth or somewhat lower round, but I’d be astonished if the Vikings didn’t utilise their two first-round selections (plus maybe a few more) to go find a QB.

Penix and Nix are quarterbacks in that second tier, and their circumstances seem comparable to me. Penix and the Raiders seem like a great fit, but maybe not at No. 13. Penix might end up joining the Raiders in a trade scenario.

Rattler might be a lottery ticket and an excellent match behind Geno Smith. The Seahawks may need to make a deal because they don’t have a second-round pick and I’m not sure whether he will make it to the third round.
